Larnie Chapman
Larnie Chapman
Story
Hi all!
My name is Larnie Chapman and I’m a 17 year old swimmer and coach for Denman Swimming club. I am holding a Pancreatic Cancer Fundraising Event at the Denman Memorial Pool on Saturday the 24th of November.
My pop, Phillip Carroll, passed away on the 26th of May this year due to Pancreatic Cancer. He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on the 25th of January and suffered and lived with the disease for 4 months.
With November being the National Pancreatic Cancer month, and the 23rd of November being my pop’s birthday, I have chosen to hold the fundraiser on Saturday the 24th of November. The day will begin at 11am at the Denman Memorial Pool and over the duration of the day, any participants, including myself, will complete a 17-kilometre collective swim, 340 laps all together. I have chosen to aim for this distance as my pop lived with cancer for 17 weeks, meaning we will swim 1km for every week he had cancer. The fundraising aim for this event is $4000, aiming to raise $1000 per month he lived with cancer. There will be a barbeque lunch provided on the day and anyone and everyone are welcome to come along.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.
Thank you so much for your support!
